Digitally Smoothing Scans

3D scanning forms is quite an accurate activity, with a couple of exception. These centre on the difficulty in capturing the detail that is inside the form, more often than not caused by hands or physical impressions. To 3D print these rough representations would not be particularly successful due to the messy geometry. Therefore, I crunched the original file sizes using Meshlab from 2,500,000 faces to 1,250,000 (half), 300,000 (quarter), 150,000 (quarter m) and 1 x 32nd of 75,999. I then took all the quarter sized models and used Forger on the iPad to achieve some form of smoothness.
