Everyday Inspiration

Sat in a gallery cafe contemplating the work that had just been viewed and realising that using our hands to manipulate materials is more of an everyday activity than we first think. It is a very natural process to us and using our hands to create form is surely the most basic form of expression and interaction we know. It’s a primitive response to tangible matter. As Tony Cragg says, sculpture is the understanding of materials and how we move those materials about.
